As part of my remit at Manners Maclean, I have identified charity partners that embody our corporate philosophy that seek to contribute to the sustainable development of a fair & equal society and help to enrich the lives of others. Our charity partners share Manners Maclean’s beliefs and help bring our values to life.

Over time, we have developed a very close relationship and have a calendar of International & UK based challenges on both team and individually-led fund raising initiatives as well as company donations.

Resonating with research and insights from our STANDOUT team, we have chosen to support the work of Womankind. Womankind is a charity that helps provide support to women to transform their lives and their communities by working in partnership with women’s rights organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Their main aims are to increase women’s civil and political participation and to make sure women have equal access to and control over economic resources.

We will be specifically fund raising for the emergency disaster relief projects. In 2012, Concern responded to 43 emergencies across 20 countries, directly reaching almost three million people affected. They do not just deal with the short-term needs of communities affected by disaster by providing emergency aid, but stay there and help tackle the long-term problems by giving people the tools to rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.

Our final charity is a cause that is particularly close to the hearts of the staff at Manners Maclean. SSNAP is run by a very small and dedicated team that raise funds to provide support for sick new-born babies and their families. The SSNAP provide vital life-saving equipment, specialist training for staff at the Oxford Neonatal Unit as well as a great deal of emotional and practical support to parents.
